The Historic Redlands Community Center announces a series of fund-raising events in anticipation of their 100-year Anniversary
The Redlands Community Center opened its doors in 1920 and has been used for important occasions for decades by generations of Western Slope residents. The Redlands Community Center is one of only a handful of structures in Mesa County placed on the Colorado Historical Society Register. As we begin plans to undergo much-needed renovations, the Redlands Community Center has planned a series of fun-filled events to raise funds.
These events are open to the public, and tickets are on sale now.
The series kicks off on Saturday, April 28, with a Luau Dinner Dance. Performances by CMU’s Polynesian Student Alliance includes time-honored song and dance. A traditional Polynesian Dinner buffet and tropical drinks will be followed by an evening of dancing. Tickets are $45 per person, $80 per couple, table of 8 is $300.00. Call 970-245-0204 to purchase.
A Food and Wine Paring Seminar takes place on Friday, June 15. Jenne Baldwin-Eaton, Instructor of Viticulture and Enology at WCCC, will guide you through the art and science of pairing local wines with various cuisine. She will also discuss the methodologies of wine production in the unique Grand Valley region. Tastings are included in this fun and informative 21 and up event. Tickets are $40 per person. Call 970-245-0204 to purchase.
The fun continues with a Car Show, Sock Hop and Beer Tasting on Saturday, September 8. Channel your inner “Fonzie” and enjoy a vintage car show while sampling some local Colorado brew during the day. The fun continues with a Sock Hop Dinner Dance in the evening. A dance contest will be a highlight of the evening. Tickets are $45 per person, $80 per couple, table of 8 is $300.00. Call 975-245-0204 to purchase.
To ring in the New Year and a new look for the Historic Redlands Community Center, join us for the New Year’s Eve Extravaganza on Monday, December 31. A catered dinner with carving station and all the New Year’s Eve festivities will take place as you dance the night away. Tickets are $75 per person, table of 8 is $575. Call 970-245-0204 to purchase.
A portion of your ticket is tax-deductible as all proceeds from the events go to the Redlands Community Center Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Tickets for all events are limited and can be purchased by calling 970-245-0204 or e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
